After seeing the brilliant 2016 AICP Sponsor Reel by Method Studios, I dreamed of creating a fun music video like it. Fortunately, the effervescent Nick Campbell of GreyscaleGorilla released a series of Cinema 4D tutorials explaining how to transform motion capture data into dancing characters. By watching his tutorials and harnessing the incredible rigging and animation features of the Mixamo site, I was able to bring dancers to life. Cinema 4D provided the tools necessary to add fascinating, dynamic materials such as hair, fur, feathers, and jellybeans to the dancers. Using music from the Art List site, I orchestrated the dancers into the 2-minute animation you’re about to enjoy (I hope).
