About Luminescent World
Join me as we embark on an enchanting journey into the creation of twenty-five of my all-time favorite photographs. Along every colorful bend in the path, new discoveries filled with the joy and promise of creative possibility await. Some of the images that you’ll encounter rely heavily on post-capture editing, a handful of them are almost entirely the product of in-camera technique, while others are an equal mix of both stages of the creative process. All images in this eBook represent a body of work that makes me hungry for more opportunities to expand myself as a photographer.
As you navigate this eBook, you’ll encounter a collection of creative techniques that include soft-glow montages, high dynamic range composites, multi-image montages, long-exposure tilts, in-camera multiple-exposure rotate and zoom montages, walks through a forest with an open shutter, mirror montages, long-exposure slap zooms, and many more. My hope is that this adventure will infuse you with an abundance of creative ideas and instill in you a desire to begin making images that both reflect and expand your vision.
This eBook is not intended to serve as a play-by-play rendition of my creative process, nor is it designed to impart highly technical information. I’ve written other books that cover that information. This eBook invites you to be expressive with your photography and to cultivate your imagination! Like a painter, don’t be afraid to embellish a scene to convey the emotions that you experienced while standing before it. Remember, there are no rules stating that a photograph must be a literal interpretation of the world. Instead, let each image be a reflection of your artistic spirit. Even though these pages exhibit a collection of photographs, this eBook is about so much more than photography. It’s about the joy that comes from expressing your true nature. I believe that a photograph created during a moment of inspiration has the potential to reveal the contents of your soul. The stories that you are about to read offer a tiny glimpse into mine.
