Photoshop Workbench 360: Photographic Toning Using Gradient Map Presets

Not too long ago, I came across an article authored by Katrin Eismann in Photoshop User magazine that piqued my interest. Not only did she explain how Photoshop’s confusing Gradient Map feature affects tonal values; she also demoed Adobe’s hidden photographic toning presets and showed how to preview them all at once using a free Julieanne Kost template. I love this woman! Today, I’d like to share what I learned with you.

Great workbench Mark. Timely too as I have an image I want to try something like that on. I tried toning it in Lightroom, now I’ll try this method in PhotoShop and see what I can do with it.
It’ll have to wait until we get back home though.

PS: We used to be able to purchase a single workbench, I must have missed the change as I don’t see a way to do it now.

    Thx

Hi Jim. It’s always so nice to hear from you. Thanks for your comments. For the time being, I’ve decided not to make individual Workbenches available for purchase. If I hear enough feedback from folks requesting that I restore this feature, I will certainly consider it. For the time being, please be aware that you can now view Workbenches on your mobile devices while traveling (or at home).
