It’s as if the bear struck a pose for Linda Harrington as she captured this remarkable polar portrait. Images like this one are truly a gift. Unfortunately, the brightness of the bear in relation to the snow produced an exposure with barely recognizable detail in the snow. We’ll use today’s Workbench to examine Linda’s histogram and determine if detail can be restored. Then, we’ll non-destructively apply a Shadows/Highlights adjustment, a multiplied Levels layer, and a Curves layer to bring out better detail in both the snow and the bear.
