When I discover something inspiring, I can’t wait to share it with others. My friend, Brian Luke Seaward, recently finished a documentary on the healing power of nature. I watched it last weekend and was swept away by the film’s beautiful message. To view the trailer, click here. A small, low-res YouTube video hardly does the film justice, but at least it offers a glimpse into Luke’s magical world.
In today’s Workbench, we’ll carry forward the idea of creating something beautiful. Steve Orr submitted today’s image. During a phone conversation, we came up with the idea of transforming Steve’s image into one that conveys the moods of both the arid location and the divine subject matter. We decided that converting the image to high-contrast black and white would enhance the feeling of the remote, dry landscape. The addition of a burst of diffuse white light coming from the upper right corner would permit the viewer to draw his or her own conclusion about the source of the light. Here’s the path we followed.
