In this Photoshop Workbench, I intend to show you three different ways to vignette a photograph.  Then, I’ll introduce you to a creative way to add an unconventional vignette border.  Historically, vignetting was used in the wet darkroom to prevent the viewer’s eye from leaving the picture.  Since the human eye is less drawn to shadow regions in a photograph, burning (darkening) the corners, is one strategy to keep the viewer engaged in the central part of the image.

As always, very clear explanations of subtle techniques. Your non-traditional vignette is very cool, and I am excited to go try it out. Also, the format of your videos is great, simple and elegant.

Your work and your spirit are appreciated!

    cheers,
