Photoshop Workbench 144: Removing Undesirable Subjects
View Smaller Version or Purchase a Downloadable QuickTime Video
If you do enough exploring, you’re likely to discover that Photoshop is full of pleasant little surprises. In today’s Workbench, I’m going to show you a way to use Photoshop CS3 Extended’s Median Stack Mode to automatically remove undesirable subjects from a scene. Median Stack Mode is capable of examining a series of frames for differences. In areas where differences exist, say a moving car or person, Median Stack Mode eliminates pixels that aren’t consistent from frame to frame.
Imagine that you’re capturing the perfect beach sunset and in each shot love struck tourists walk right through the frame. If you’re capturing the scene from a tripod and you’re willing to shoot numerous frames, CS3 Extended is about to save you a lot of retouching work.
